I never really made a study of that weight class. Maybe it was Pep or maybe it was Sandy Saddler who I think beat Pep in 3 of their 4 fights and was a huge puncher with a very long reach and fast hands.Sanchez was great too so maybe he was the best. I am not really sure.

You could make a better argument for Gomez at 122, which was his best weight. We saw what happened when he met Sanchez at 126.

          Naseem? Hahahahahahaha
Pep has a win over Saddler that's the greatest win you can get aside from Sanchez and Pep himself.

Naseem is the arguably the second most dangerous boxer at that weight behind Saddler he had tons of potential.

No, Saddler was not better than Nelson and Gómez, Nelson probably is the best africsn in the history and Wilfredo is top-3 of Puerto Rico.

I always find questions like this hard to answer because the guys who accomplished the most would have been guys who stayed in the division for a long time, or the majority of their career like Pep.

But the best fighters who fought at that weight are probably guys like Armstrong, Pac, Marquez, Barrera, Morales, who happened to start their careers at that weight or below and pass through on the way to winning belts in several weight classes.

Not really because i know Sanchez was a great fighter himself, but Gomez wasn't at his best when he fought Sanchez who Gomez understimated.
