Comments Thread For: Gilberto Ramirez Wants Big Fights, Unifications Before 175 Move

On Monday, Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez's trainer Hector Zapari responded to comments made by newly crowned IBF interim super middleweight champion Jose "Bolivita" Uzcategui's agent Sean Gibbons. The Las Vegas based Gibbons used to be part of Ramirez's team. Gibbons said that Uzcategui would make Ramirez,"look like an amateur. Zurdo is an amateur compared to this guy. This is a real super middleweight."

I don't think he can hang at 175. It's not like the talentless 168 division.

I could see Zurdo keep fighting low opposition and talk about wanting to fight the other champions in his division in 2018 too. LOL

Hopefully we see Zurdo vs Uzcutegui next followed by Benavidez vs Zurdo. After that he should slowly ease into 175, theres are some heavy hitters at 175.

              Zurdo should unify with Benavidez

I was a big fan of Zurdo and still enjoy watching him fight, but Top Rank is protecting him like no other. Pretty sure his next 2 fights are gonna be Rocky Fielding and Rohan Murdock. Would love to see him fight Uzcategui, think that would be great action

"We want unification fights and if we can't get those fights then we will look at 175 pounds because Zurdo deserves the big fights and want to see him fight with Benavidez, Bolivita, and the WBSS tournament winner,' said Zapari. It is time for Bob Arum to make it happen. We are doing our part and now our promoter needs to do his part to bring Zurdo to the level he deserves." - Hector Zapari

Bob got Crawford Molina Jr. and Felix Diaz, maybe he could get Zurdo a fight with Jose Uzcategui or Benavidez. At some point Bob is going to have let his fighters go fight on Showtime or HBO, if he wants to see them achieve greatness.

Isn't Gvozdyk signed with Top Rank?
