When people point at Salido (March 2014) its a bit like pointing at Bernard Hopkins first fight and continually saying 'Clinton Mitchell though' for the rest of his career (Hopkins lost MD in that one).
And yes, 40 low blows in the fight and the Lawrence Cole allowed it. Plus Salido coming in as a welterweight - but all on the past.
Part of Cole's defence was 'Lomachenko didn't complain about the low blows'. He also said if he docked Salido points for low blows, he would also have to dock Lomachenko points for holding. However, on the holding, he also pointed out he would have to dock Salido points for holding later in the fight too for consistency, and that would potentially have meant a DQ by then.
Anyway, has Lomachenko learned anything and improved by then ? Or will he always be beaten by a Salido type ?
I would hazard to suggest he has learned enough since then that the current Loma would beat Salido on that night in 2014. Firstly he started too slow back then as he he didn't know how to pace himself, so he gave up the first half of the fight for no reason. If you see the pace he was going later on in the Salido fight, it was clear he left too much in the tank, and later performances see him going up the gears much faster.
And now he complains about every low blow. Thank you for that tip Lawrence......Comment

Anyone else notice eric gomez was this little dork and when he got promoted started looking like themexican godfather? Haha. Anyways linares gets handled pretty easily by loma. I see some of those Loma cant beat linares guys already saying 'well of course loma, beats linares but not crawford' hahaha. Wooooo flair style. Gotta love itComment

Yes styles make fights, and Loma is all wrong for Mikey.
There are enough Ring-rated guys at 135/140 whose style is easier for Mikey (eg Postol/Easter) that he doesn't need Loma.
Not sure how Mikey would handle 147, but would like to see him against Danny Garcia.Comment

You are absolutely right! Haters will always remember that fight although everybody undestand current Loma would beat that Siri easily. Because of that tip of Lawrence Cole alsoWhen people point at Salido (March 2014) its a bit like pointing at Bernard Hopkins first fight and continually saying 'Clinton Mitchell though' for the rest of his career (Hopkins lost MD in that one).

Apparently in boxing their phones only work one way.
Looks like Arum made the fight with Mr. Honda & they're waiting on the sign off from Golden Boy. From the beginning Arum has said he's dealing with Mr. Honda. Golden Boy better not mess this upComment

If the fight happens, they better start testing that Linares character, just to make sure he does not have any “tainted meat” wink winkComment

Get off lomas nuts already. Garcia won a unanimous decision against the IBF champ who was put on his ass in the 7th round. Lipinets never put on his asss or knocked out before but according to you and ****** haters out there Garcia looked ordinary. GTFOH with that nonsense 4 belt division champion hate on that haters. Scoreboard come with something next time not just hate. Garcia would smack Loma around at 135 and knock him out at 140.Thats usually true when its someone like Mikey Garcia who fights the easiest fight every time. Then when he fights someone good he looks very ordinary. Lipinets is horrible and made Garcia look ordinary. Loma is making top fighters look easy. Gary Russel Jr, Walters, Rigo, it cant all just be luck. I dont think theres anyone at 135-140 who gives Loma any problems including Garcia.

Just cause you say so. 4 division champion and he's going to duck pitty paddy punching Loma. Garcia wants to get in the ring with the big dogs at 147. Was even willing to fight Manny at 147 also , but now he's going to avoid a fight with loma ok sure. All you Loma fan boys who cant get Loma's nuts out of their mouth. If Salido can whoop his asss what's the bigger stronger taller fighter Mickey Garcia going to do to him. Destroy him. I would really like to see Loma try to take Garcia's left hook upper cut. Comes at about a 45 degree angle. The one he hit Lipinets with.Comment
