Comments Thread For: Luis Nery Waiting For a Reply From The World Boxing Council

Former world champion Luis Nery, accompanied by his team headed by adviser Guillermo Brito, appeared on Friday for a hearing with the World Boxing Council - after failing to make weight on the scale and having to vacate the bantamweight crown. The WBC asked him to give an explanation for not being able to make 118 pounds for the scheduled defense of the title against Shinsuke Yamanaka.

Nery was banned from fighting in Japan. Should Quigg be banned from fighting in the U.S.?

It feels like Nery was banned from Japan for knocking out Yamanaka twice, not for failing to make weight.

Had Yamanaka won, would they have still banned him? I'm not too sure.

Japan were right to ban him. He's a cheat. This should happen a lot more, in boxing.

          Exactly.

They did this after the fight, why not before?

They are mad because Nery whooped the ass of s
          Their idol.

Nery and Canelo should be banned except in Mexico.

You obviously don't understand Japanese culture and what dishonour and disgrace means.

Luis Nery confirmed himself a drug cheat by getting caught with clenbuterol in his system and making weight, only to then come in 5 pounds overweight for the rematch. So, not only did he fail to make weight, but he spat in the face of those who gave him the opportunity to redeem himself.

He confirmed his guilt and complete lack of respect.

At the end He was in 121 pounds and Yamanaka controlled his weight rehydration.

Japan? My balls, they had to do this before the fight, not after Nery whooped the ass of his Idol.

                    Honor? Jajajajaja
