Who here thinks Luis Nery is a cheat?

    I certainly don't.

How can Mexican fighters avoid meat altogether? Sure, I'm pretty sure Canelo had the money to get clean meat, but even then, contaminated meat could still come through the cracks.

But I don't imagine a fighter like Nery has this luxury. What are your thoughts on his case against Canelo's?

Originally I was prepared to give Nery the benefit of doubt, the fact that he badly missed weight in his last fight and the fact that clenbuterol can be used as a weight cutting agent, makes me feel he doesn’t deserve that same benefit of doubt.

Evidence is pretty damning, can have some doubt with the contaminated meat, but for him then to miss weight, hes ****ed himself. Can you imagine the ****storm there could be if Canelo misses weight in the rematch?

Nery is just another Mexican cheat in a long line of Mexican frauds.

Exactly, Nery missing weight makes him look a lot more guilty

Yes because not only is he a PED user he also cheated at the weigh-in. I hope he never gets a chance to fight on HBO or Showtime. Boxing is dangerous enough without doing the things he's willing to do to gain advantages.

Mexico's victorious Under-17 team did not have a single adverse finding; after the positive tests for the senior players they were only allowed to eat fish and vegetables.
I get that it's going back a few years (although maybe the problem was even worse in 2011) but I'm wondering how they managed to get the whole u17 soccer team to avoid contamination by the simple expedient of only allowing them fish and vegetables, but yet this simple and obvious step was beyond the wealthiest and best known active boxer in Mexico? Nery really doesn't have much of a better excuse... it's not like beef is the only food available in Mexico, man, or that Nery would as a professional athlete have been somehow unaware of the issues.

Nery's missing weight in the second fight is major Bayesian evidence towards his probable culpability in intentional doping. People on NSB should look up 'mens rea', I know the principle differs from country to country, but not that much. Bayesian evidence like fighters missing weight should be enough to shift the burden of proof away from the commissions and onto Nery in future, IMO.

So Canelo should become a pescatarian for the remainder of his boxing career? Seems a bit excessive.

The more I think about it, the less I think he did it. Who gets Vada enrolled than risk a fight of this magnitude by doping. Just doesn't add up. He could've forgone testing altogether and save himself the trouble.
