Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Says He Can Still Make 135, Feels it's His Best Weight

WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (37-0) insists that the delay in his IBF super lightweight championship fight against Sergey Lipinets will have no effect on his performance. The fight was originally scheduled for February 10th but had to be rescheduled for March 10th when Lipinets injured his hand. Garcia said that he didn't every stop training and just scaled it down a bit so that he would peak at the right time.

This dude needs to pick a weight class and stick with it. This talk of 147 is bs, that massive jump in weight would be too much for Garcia. 135 is indeed his peak so he needs to focus on that and fight Lomachenko.

Music to my ears, if he means it. If he moves back down then the Loma fight will be inevitable.

Thats exactly why he wants to continue to fight at 135 because Loma is a much bigger payday then the top guys at 140. Loma vs Mikey will happen in 12 months at latest probably for the Undisputed Lightweight Championship of the World. Loma about to defeat Linares & Beltran and Mikey unifies titles against Easter Jr.

Funny how much his attitude changed overnight after seeing what Prograis can do. That is the really the fight that should be happening next, Mikey vs Prograis, but I'm guessing Mikey will swerve that one just like he swerved Gamboa and every other athletic powerful boxer-puncher who has wanted to fight him his entire career.

Robert Garcia just recently said the Loma fight could happen in seven years.
                Meaning it will never happen.

Loma will avoid Garcia because he's a scurred soft Euro Bum fraud.

That "Bum fraud" has the most impressive record in entire boxing also by soon to become a 3 weight World Champ in his 12th pro fight and by facing elite opposition in each division he fought.
