Wilder's win over Luis Ortiz is overrated

And for one reason only: "King Kong" was a PED cheat who relied on PEDs his whole career. He was forced to be clean for Wilder, and was exposed as the trash he really is.

Ortiz off PEDs is like Bane off Venom. Wilder was fighting the worst version of Ortiz possible, and he knew this, hence his "Confi-Dance".

Not sure why people choose to ignore this fact.

Let's be honest about this fight- it was really a mirage.

Ortiz was as dominant as ever even without his PED's, he wasn't like Pedvetkin who hasn't ko'd a single fighter since he got busted.

Besides that was far from Wilder at his best, you don't lose 6lbs in a week before a fight due to illness and be 100%.

Agreed. Who did Ortiz beat to show how good he is? "The eye test though"

Looking good against weak opposition doesn't mean the fighter is good. We saw that with Eubank Jr.

Wilder-Ortiz was a fight between two old prospects. Nothing more. Nothing special.

The hilarious thing is the better prospect lost because he gassed, because of old age.

Wilder's win was against a faded fighter that's actually not proven a thing at a good level. For all we know, ortiz may have fallen short once he reached a good level, regardless of opponent, like Eubank Jr.

Not to discredit Wilder's win, but it shouldn't be made into something it's not. Just as Joshua's win over Wlad was a win over a faded fighter in his 40's, coming off a loss and time off. At least that fighter was once top notch though. So those fights are not comparable in my eyes.

Ortiz hurt Wilder fairly late in the round. He did a sloppy job of trying to finish him but he still had him badly hurt when the bell rang. Then when the next round started with Ortiz wanting to jump on Wilder as soon as possible they delayed the start of the round to examine Wilder to see if he was fit to continue. That was pure BS and he gave Wilder precious extra recovery time from the beating he took in the previous round. Maybe Wilder would have survived without the delay in the fight and maybe he would not have but it was unfair to Ortiz. It was pretty obvious that Wilder was the one that those in power wanted to win the fight. Either a fighter is fit to continue or he isn't. That exam of Wilder was BS designed to help him win.

Neither was AJs of old midget Takam. His win over 41 year old Klitschko wasn’t impressive either. Klitschko was coming off a 2year layoff a loss and still dropped AJ mr soft chin. Crazy thing about the Klitschko fight is the better fighter lost because of inactivity and old age lmaoooooooo.

I agree. At least Klitschko is a proven HOF fighter.
