AJ from the Whyte time would have beaten Wilder let alone the current version.
Joshua is still 5 to 6 fights away from his prime.

I'm not here to talk semantics or 'public opinion'. Who gives a **** what 'people' on here think. Facts:Joshua has a belt and will probably have another after the Parker fight. He's not a prospect and public sentiment will not be kind if he avoids a unification match because "He's not ready."
If Wilder is the talentless bum that a lot of people on this forum think he is then there shouldn't be any excuse for Joshua not fighting him.
-Wilder is far from a talentless bum and presents serious dangers
-Joshua is probably 2 years away from his peak
-Joshua has the better resume, and will widen the gap if he beats Parker.
-Wilder has a much better chance now whilst he himself is peaking, and Joshua has not ironed out his flaws.
Team Joshua should not succumb to any kind of public pressure to immediately make the fight post Parker. Its not as if he's held the belt hostage, he's got one of the best 20 fight resumes that you are likely to see. I think you will see Joshua take on a mandatory or two after Parker (if he wins) and Joshua-Wilder probably happens late 2018 or early 2019, which is exactly when it should happen from a number of points of view.Comment

I agree with the OP that Joshua is a bit away from his prime. So much is made of Wilder walking into a gym when he was 21, but Joshua only started boxing at 18 and only had 34 amateur fights before turning pro. Couple that with his relatively short cumulative ring time as a pro and I think it's completely fair to say he has a bit to go before peaking. He also actually demonstrates technical improvements from fight to fight.Comment

Eddie brought the crap upon AJ by putting Wilder down and saying how it is easy to knock him out in 3 rounds. Wilder was willing to give AJ more time to get ready until Eddie began to talk his ****** stuff as usual. Also, prime varies for each boxer. We keep using prime - what exactly does that mean and how can one perfectly measure it?Yep this is exactly correct, and yes that is why those fans want the fight NOW. That is why everybody anti-Joshua wants those big fights now.
Joshua and Hearn have brought this on themselves to a certain extent though, I knew when he took the Martin fight, the problem wouldn't be beating Martin, it would be the expectations on him after that happened.
In terms of Wilder - I have been saying the same thing since the beginning of the year, I don't think they should take it until Joshua has had 2 or 3 more fights, and training camps. He needs to iron out some of his defensive flaws.Comment

No one is saying AJ needs more time.
He'll beat Wilder easily.Comment

Why the sudden excuses? The only truth Eddie has stated so far is the financial advantage they have had over Wilder - which is why Wlad chose the AJ route instead of Wilder; same for Charles Martin and Joseph Parker too. If Wilder could pay these guys the money worth their while, he would have been the one with 2 or 3 belts now. So, perspective is important with all these AJ has the better resume. Their competition is about the same.Comment

You say 2-3 fights so another 1 1/2 - 2 years the TS said 5-6 fights so 2 1/2 - 3 years3-4 years, or 2-3 fights? Yeah big difference.
Not to mention that the fight is not as big as it should be right now. It will get bigger, this past weekend already proved that, it would have been a big mistake to have it in March like a lot of fans were clamouring for post Stiverne.
It just comes across as p. Ussy. Never have I seen a fan base claim that their guy is the best while so scared sh. Itless of fighting his biggest threat
The man might have 3/4 of the belts in a couple weeks with in the next year it should be go time no excuses if he wasn’t up for the task he shouldn’t have overpaid Martin for his strap if he still need seasoning
Who f.ucking cares if AJ loses or if Wilder loses its a sport and entertainment its not serious.
But all the excuses why this fight shouldn’t happen from AJ fans is straight b.itch madeComment

I really love your confidence. They are not taking the fight next. There will be 1 more fight before. I only wished AJ was half as confident as you are. I don't see anyway AJ beats Wilder. You will have enough time though to prepare your excuses. Won't it be very sad for all the talk to have a "talentless" Wilder beat up AJ? Worse still if Parker beats him first. Better say your prayers...Comment

What does undefeated have to do with anything? I didn't realise that signifies when someone is at their best.
Fanboy has nothing to do with it, common sense has a lot to do with it. If you think the guy has hit his peak after 20 fights, and as a late starter to the sport anyway then I don't know what to say to you.
I don't think Joshua should rush into a fight because the other side really wants it, and they know you are still a little green. Its brain dead, and even more dumb if YOU are the A-side and the cash cow, and its even worse if YOU are the one that has been taking on the greater challenges!
As I said in my other post - this fight will happen when Hearn and Joshua feel they are ready, not a second before. This will probably be towards the end of 2018 or first half of 2019. In the mean time I will enjoy their respective careers, and will really enjoy when the fight happens.Comment
