Alberto Contador's lawyers will need to re-think their Tour de France doping defence. A WADA official reminded them that an athlete with any amount of the drug Clenbuterol is considered positive.

"Just because it's small doesn't mean it's not doping," WADA's Christiane Ayotte told the New York Times. "This is just the dopers adjusting or mis-adjusting to the testing."

Ayotte runs the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) lab outside of Montreal. She commented on the recent cases of athletes testing positive for small amounts of Clenbuterol. The drug helps breathing and weight loss.

    Recent cases:
    - China's Fuyu Li: 50-100 picograms
    - Italy's Alessandro Colò: 200 picograms
    - Spain's Alberto Contador: 50 picograms
    - Germany's Dimitrij Ovtcharov: 75 picograms
    - Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez: 600-800 piocgrams

Cyclists Li and Colò both received suspensions from their federations. Germany acquitted table tennis player Ovtcharov, but WADA has since appealed the decision. All of the athletes argued that the Clenbuterol came from eating contaminated beef.

The WADA lists Clenbuterol as a banned substance regardless of how it was ingested. Contador maintains his innocence and claims that the beef that his Astana team bought in Irún, Spain, caused the positive result.

Here is Canelo, 2 failed tests in 3 days:

    0.6-0.8 nanogram = 600-800 picograms

It is alarming how the media tries to fool the public by calling it "Just traces" and alot of people just fall for it. All the previously mentioned athletes had much less Clenbuterol in their samples and yet got suspended, you have to wonder how much meat Canelo must have eaten to have 12-14 times the amount of Clenbuterol in his system?

In an article from GQ 18 months ago Canelo claimed that he wouldnt eat any red meat during training camp:

The Real-Life Diet of Canelo Álvarez, Who Can't Eat Much

Still, boxing has one huge piece of prep work that’s easy to forget about: staying in your weight class. Weight is everything in boxing, and maintaining that number is a slog. “I eat bread only once a week,” says Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez via a translator, “or maybe a serving of rice. But no more than once a week.”

    Breakfast
Egg whites with ham and orange juice

    Lunch
Chicken with carrots, squash, broccoli and cauliflower

    Snacks
    Apples, cucumbers, g****s, jicama

    Dinner
    Protein shake with no carbs

This boy is roided. He should just be banned that's all. Boxing fans should just sue the bodies if Canelo is not banned.

That's only one source, so here are some more.

When the fight is over, Alvarez forgets about his diet restrictions for a while and eats whatever he is craving, tacos, sushi or anything else his heart desires. But this is only temporary, as soon as he signs up for another fight, he goes on the restricted diet again..

      Breakfast
Have a healthy breakfast, egg whites fried in, preferably, olive oil.
      A piece of ham.
A glass of fresh fruit juice.
      Lunch
      Grilled or smoked chicken piece.
A side of vegetables like carrots, broccoli, etc.
      Dinner
Only a glass of protein shake. No other forms of carbs.
      Snacks
Only fruits and vegetables; apples, g****s, Jicama, carrots, etc.
The lack of dinner will unnerve some boxers and they may think that this diet isn’t enough to fuel their workouts. But that is how Canelo Alvarez does it.

“Routine is everything for me because boxing is very much driven by routine. It requires a certain kind of discipline to become a great boxer,” says Alvarez, who wakes up at 6 a.m., trains for two hours, eats a lean breakfast, takes a quick power nap, and trains for another three hours. “I’m very disciplined about my diet when I train. I only eat lean proteins and veggies, like salmon and veggies.” Part of the afternoon is also spent working out strategies for the next fight.

a boxer needs healthy fats, from coconut oil and grass-fed butter. being grass-fed raises the amino acid profile of any dairy product due to the insects in the grass. he consumes zero complex carbohydrates?

Jesus some perspective is needed here. What I mean is how big is a picogram? If we're talking about trace amounts then one could have just trace amounts of something in their system that is still multiple times the trace amounts of somebody else.

In regards to the Mexican soccer team (mentioned here yesterday), more than 100 players showed traces of clenbuterol. The Mexican players who tested as clean switched to a fish and vegetable diet before the competition. While the bicyclist Contador tested only 50 picograms, the majority of the soccer players tested between 50-300 and 3 players gave samples between 300-1300. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2011/1...p-players.html

So he tested higher than the majority of the soccer players. But what that means I don't really know because they seem to have a legit issue with the meat.

I thought the first fight with GGG was rigged and still feel that way. I thought GGG won easily and I believe Dela Hoya will do his best to rig the judging in their next fight. All that said I don't believe for a minute that Canelo got caught juicing and I believe his explanation. I think Canelo is a protected fighter by his management and would stoop to any corrupt adventure to gain a win for Canelo I also believe Canelo is a clean fighter and if there are traces of banned substances in his blood he didn't knowingly put them there. This fight shouldn't be canceled for this but I'd still watch the judging.

If he wasn't such a name or money maker this wouldn't be getting brushed under the carpet as it is, and as quickly. A shame really.

It's interesting that a fighter who says he doesn't eat beef in training camp has somehow eaten enough beef liver to beat the 1/100 odds that this shows up in his urine. Just as interesting is the fact that people believe him and want to put this on GGG and his fan base.

Beef Liver is the best source of animal based Vitamin A that you can consume, animal-based Vitamin A and plant-based Vitamin A are important to differentiate. Your beef liver has real high Vitamin A content, so do quail eggs.

Not saying anything other than it's smart to consume liver

Thats the thing if that meat is so bad that it can give levels like that, some might as well go to Mexico use the micro dosing method and just blame that meat. I don't know the diet of football players but a boxer eating how much red meat? Never has this happened to Canelo and isn't one of Canelo trainers also a butcher so im sure he would know where not to get the bad meat? Canelo got horses and farm land he could get some great organic fresh meat with his resources.
