Highly rated Welsh trainer Darren Wilson has had some story. He is one of the men behind the success of Nathan Cleverly, having been in the corner for Cleverly's successful World title bid against Jurgen Braehmer in Germany as well as his clash with Badou Jack on the undercard of Mayweather vs McGregor. Wilson has spent time with the likes of Tom Jones and Mickey Rourke in Los Angeles but still stays true to his routes in South Wales.

Cleverly was getting hurt and losing to Braehmer until the German retired due to energy. Badou Jack annihilated Clev in 5 rounds. Hardly success.

I’m not saying Wilson is a good trainer or Cleverly was a world beater, obviously he was limited against top opponents, but saying Brehmer retired ‘due to energy’ isn’t giving fair credit to Cleverly for fighting with the energy that Brehmer couldn’t keep up with.
His punch volume was too much for Braehmer, so give credit where it’s due for that particular win.

Didn't we have this conversation the other week regarding Clev-Braehmer?

I remember having a substantial bet on Clev to win via TKO/KO and felt so lucky that it came through given the circumstances. According to his promoter, Braehmer dislocated his elbow (I thought he broke part of his hand).

Clev had success in the 1st and 5th round but was fairly limited elsewhere.

If we did have this conversation the other week, then we can agree to disagree (again).

P.S Braehmer was ahead by two points on all score cards. Why Quit?
