Last night on WNF,Teddy Atlas stated that he thought Winky has slowed down the past couple of years. And thats why he thinks that Taylor will win.Have you guys seen any evidence of this?
yes..the soliman fight made him look real bad..winky was slow and out shape..But hey, i bet he took soliman lightly..you can bet your a$$ that he will be in tip top shape as Tayor will. Winky will pick it up in this fight...I also want to make a small bet that Taylor will defeat winky..say like 6 million..I'm broke so thats all i can bet..
Most people have only seen Wright fight against Mosley, Trinidad and Soliman. At least 80% of this forum had no idea who he was before he fought Mosley.
That would include Atlas probably, as well as anyone that claims he's slowing down, or claims he was unimpressive against Soliman.
As a huge winky fan, I think he has slown down. If you look at the Vargas fight, it looks like hes much quick on his feet. Whereas vs mosley had didnt move as much. Just watch some some of the vargas fight, he looks twice as fast on his feet.

I have only seen those fights of his.I admit it!But thats why I was asking the experts.
yeah, i can't say i agree with that... i feel you give Winky another 1-2 years and you might begin to see some aging, but i honestly haven't seen that many signs.. he's toward the end of his physical peak, but not near past it yet
Winky ****** against Soliman, big time, and maybe the flu is the reason.
Wright has to be at his best this time. He just saw what happened to Tarver - going from self annointed "best light heavyweight" to concensus "worthless bum" in one fight. If Taylor does well, Wright's prior career will be downgraded e.g. Mosley was shot and fighing way over his best weight, Trinidad was retired already, yadadada.
Taylor just beat a very strong hall of famer - twice. Ugly fights, but if he hadn't tired, he was running away with both fights.
The only question mark in my mind is the stamina of Taylor. If he has it, he wins beyond any doubt. Even if he tires as he did against Hopkins, Winky hits as hard as my granny and Taylor wins a close decision.
