Deontay Wilders milking comment got me thinking

Wilder needs to look into Don Kings dodgy past dealings, he robbed Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and Tim Witherspoon out of multi millions - Witherspoon had to arm himself.

Why is Al Hayman paying Wilder a ****ty million odd dollars? Why aren't you on PPV.

Frampton misses Haymon’s checks I’m sure.

Wilder's purse was listed at over $2 million, but nobody knows what Haymon actually pays because the filed purses are often falsified or misleading. So we really don't know what Wilder is making.

There hasn't been a successful American heavyweight PPV attraction in decades. PPV is dying off in the US except for one or two exceptions.

Haymon is trying to create a new model that will allow boxing to exist without PPV.

isn't that illegal? how do they get that past the irs? he doesn't have any ppv worthy fighters no one on the pbc roster has crossed over to the mainstream he also doesn't have any latino fighters.I read something online that said Latinos make up the majority of ppv buys in boxing. it isn't dying off canelo will be around for awhile and you have top rank doing ppv on espn.

It's illegal to convince Showtime to spend more money on boxing so fights don't have to go on PPV?

Oh, gotcha. Well yes, they minimize the purses to save on taxes, sanctioning fees, trainer fees, etc.

Is it legal? Depends on how they're doing it. There are all sorts of accounting tricks used in boxing.

Cotto's purse for his retirement fight was filed with the commission at $750,000. Even though everybody knows he was paid millions for that fight.

How many millions? We'll never know. It's not really any of our business anyway.

But the point is simply that we can't just look at what's listed with the commission with Wilder and assume that's really what he's getting paid. Because we truly have no idea.
