  • Comments Thread For: Jermall Charlo: Daniel Jacobs Confronting Me Was Just an Act

NEW YORK Daniel Jacobs just wanted to make sure Jermall Charlo really doesn't think Jacobs is ducking him. That's why Jacobs confronted Charlo late Saturday night at Barclays Center, where Charlo was discussing fighting Jacobs with several reporters following Deontay Wilder's knockout of Luis Ortiz. Jacobs was walking by, but stopped to interrupt the interview and asked Charlo what he meant when discussing Jacobs in an interview with FightHype.com that was posted Friday.

Charlo went limp when Jacobs confronted him but he somehow found his bravado when Jacobs left and his brother showed up. Maybe he's not as sure of himself as he usually appears to be. Anyone who acts like the big bad wolf is just hiding their insecurities. We've seen these kind of guys beaten down and forced to be humble throughout boxing history. It never stops repeating itself. Youth, ******ity and false bravado has to be let go of, or someone, or something will come along and rip it out of your heart. LIFE is just like boxing.

If Jacobs was serious, he would have fought Charlo then signed with hbo. Jacobs doesn't mention Charlo until Jacobs is sure the networks will not allow the fight.

Jacobs had a shot against G. Maybe he should have got the decision. Doesn't matter now. Jacobs could do what Charlo did; become a mandatory and don't give the Canelo-G winner a choice. However, Jacobs apparently lacks the confidence to beat the tiddly-winks necessary to become mandatory. So, he signed with hbo to make it easier to make a fight against either G or Canelo. Maybe Jacobs is aiming for the loser of Canelo-G. He sure isn't serious about fighting Charlo, and fighting bums takes him out of the running to face the winner. The winner of Canelo-G will likely face BJS for an undisputed mw champ, but I would imagine the champ will be ordered to fight Charlo at sometime in 2019.

True and he wasn't brash talking to Jacobs. He was more trying to calm the situation down but that guy from Charlo's camp who said: Look in his eyes. He is p*ssy. That set the tone.

If this fight happens I’ll be rooting for Jacobs to kick Charlos a$$.

Jacobs probably signed with HBO because the two big stars of the division are with HBO. Jacobs is looking to get that GGG rematch or a fight with Canelo. As he was telling Charlo, he, Jacobs, is making M's(millions), Charlo hasn't made an M yet. Jacobs is on to bigger better fights. Charlo just reached the division let him continue to make a name in the division.

I love the Charlos, but If you are from Brooklyn, the way Jacobs checked Jermall was ****ing legendary. He made Mall explain himself like a middle schooler that was acting up and brought to the principal's office.

One thing I've noticed about the Charlos. They don't talk much in the presence of their opponents. Which is weird considering how much **** they talk generally when alone.

But I noticed in the Jackson fight, Williams fight, and Lubin scrap, they really didn't say anything outlandish to the other guy until after the fights were over. Why? Not sure, but it's definitely a trend with them.
