Did Wilder Receive Help Last Night From Officials?

read some of the threads with a similar theme.
one must still ask, did he need a ''time out''.......
ant hills are always mountainsComment

I've only looked at this thread. Did he need a timeout? Who knows, but did he benefit from it? Hell yes. Like I said, not Wilder's fault, but the commission could be more efficient in those types of situations.Comment

What's to explain? A fighter was out on his feet and the end of the round and got a bit of extra time to recover before the next round started. If your argument is gonna be that the minute was enough and wilder was fully recovered, just don't bother, cuz I'm not arguing with that. That would be just as speculative and unknown as what you're asking me to prove/explain. It's just common sense that someone who is hurt needs time to recover...more time is certainly not a detriment.Comment

I also mention this after the fight, was told due to the mago situation things have change in NYC, that’s cool but then someone just ask two questions now... Why didn’t the doctor go to his corner during the break to do his check, and secondly why didn’t they do the same in the 5th round when Ortiz was put down and hurt too. Those are genuine questions, if people think that asking questions like that is hating then so be it.Comment

I've watched the fight twice...but more importantly, I know how it feels to get buzzed/hurt. Better believe the effects from that lasted more than a minute. Just cuz a guy isn't tripping over his own feet doesn't mean his mind his completely clear and his legs are totally under him. This is truly a pointless thing to argue about. The broader point here is that the commission should adjust their procedure so the fight can resume at the beginning of the round.Comment

It's probably a NYC thing. After the lawsuit against NYSAC after the Perez-Magomed fight more caution has been taken during fights in NYC. Wilder looked badly hurt so there's probably some protocol to follow. On the other hand, when Ortiz was hurt, he didn't get the same treatment that I can remember, so you may have a point. But I know this is not the only fight in NYC that i've seen paused due to a fighter being badly hurt and the ref being concerned.Comment

That's a very good question...Ortiz was dropped and hurt at the end of the round too.I also mention this after the fight, was told due to the mago situation things have change in NYC, that’s cool but then someone just ask two questions now...
