Ortiz has better skills and is younger than Klitschko. At least if Wilder K.O.s Ortiz it will look better than a washed up Klit who got schooled by Fury and was inactive for 1 1/2 yrs. People who are calling Ortiz 50 yrs old are delusional and need to put down their AJ pom-pomsComment

Their styles are vastly different, but it's true, technically Ortiz is a superior fighter. His style puts him in positions to get 'worked over' (on the inside) much less than Klitschko's, Ortiz is already off at an angle out of the way at times when Klitschko's decision would be to go straight back with his wide stance, so he can escape quickly. It's a product of more ring experience. You go back like that with a wide stance against a guy with a fast straight power punch and it's a problem.
I have lots of respect for Klitschko, but this thread reminded me of something funny that George Foreman said RIGHT BEFORE Wlad got dropped by Sanders...."Problem with Klitschko, he's got his knees BENT..."
I think Wlad was a dominant top tier heavyweight with a style that many fans didn't like. This is because the man was a doctor. He understood the risks of boxing and operated behind a super educated lead side of his body, starting with his jab and lead hook. He's also one of the few taller heavies who, back in the day, would smash down a guard as part of his combination effectively. I can't remember who he did this against, Barrett maybe? It's been so damn long, but, soon...I'm going to get all those old fights on a massive collection of hard drives. Out of all the old heavyweights, older George Foreman had the jab I preferred the most.Last edited by Warrior Scholar; 03-03-2018, 03:46 PM.Comment

The hate and denial is real. The domination the easy has had in boxing has destroyed your culture. PatheticComment

LOL Wilder is dumb as ****, Vladimir was Olympic gold medalist and one of the longest reigning heavyweight champs. Ortiz was so **** as an amateur he couldn't even qualify for the Olympics. His great amateur record is the biggest load of BS I've ever heard, given the mal-nourishment in Cuba there's probably only about 20 people who grow to be over 6 foot so most of Ortiz's wins will be over total bums. Even Wilder managed to go the Olympics and get a bronze.Comment
