That is the whole point. Everyone knows at heavyweight there is AJ and Wilder and then everyone else. Honestly, AJ and Wilder are A fighters and the next best is a C level fighter like Parker. AJ needs to man up and fight Wilder. But he won't. Because he doesn't need to really. If he wants be great, dare to be great, and try for more he needs to. But AJ can make plenty of money fighting opponents that do not pose half the risk Wilder does. AJ makes more than any other boxer today, but that could triple if he came to the U.S. for Wilder and a couple more after that if he won, and man. But if he is content with little to no risk and $15-$20 million a fight, he can stay fighting in the U.K. fighting C level opponents. It makes sense for AJ for him to not fight Wilder, but it sucks for boxing fans.

anything can happen in heavyweight boxing
It might be between Parker and Ortiz who end up having the decider
Hope wilder and Joshua both win and we get to see a mega fight
Gonna try and stay up for the wilder fight . It’s the first wilder fight I’ve been interested in . Hope it’s a good one

AJ,like Klitschko, made many millions without setting foot in the US. The big money in boxing is in the UK so that's where Wilder should be heading. AJ doesn't need the US. The US is in decline as a boxing nation, as it is in many other areas.

Maybe WILDER beats JOSHUA the 1st fight and JOSHUA wins 2nd so we get a HW trilogy. Wishful thinking but at least the div will be exiting for the next few years.

The facts are Wilder can't sell out a relatively small arena (with cheap seats available) in the US for Ortiz so he obviously doesn't have much star power.
His only chance to change that after 40 attempts is a fight with AJ , if he really does want to be the baddest man on the planet he really needs to take a Parker like deal he's not a Canelo he's not even a GGG in negotiations. If he wants the 50;50 route he needs a lot more quality fights and the fans will have to wait.
Even if he beats AJ I'm not sure the US fans will flock to him (not sure why they just don't seem to like him), ducking Whyte etc will keep him unknown to Europe and away from the money.
