Comments Thread For: Wilder: Everyone Avoided 'Boogeyman' Luis Ortiz - I Blessed Him

A degree of paternal empathy with Luis Ortiz was a motivating factor for Deontay Wilder to grant him a second shot at his WBC heavyweight title. Ortiz (28-0) was forced to withdraw from a fight with Wilder (39-0) last November after failing a drugs test, and the reigning champion duly dispatched stand-in Bermane Stiverne with a brutal knockout.

Wilder means Haymon blessed Ortiz and Ortiz agreed to the package. This fight is a wwe WrestleMania show. Choreography and scripted. Ortiz will take hos severance pay to make sure PBC cashes out Wilder with AJ.

I am trying to recall if I ever read or heard Wilder saying that he was the best pre Stiverne rematch? That fight seems to have injected a new outlook for him and given him unbelievable self confidence. His self belief is winning people over because it appears 100% authentic and legit. Of course, that doesn't mean that he cannot lose but it certainly strengthens him and places doubt in the mind of his opponents.

DW should relax, this kid was 25, and took on Ortiz in only his 12th fight...was not to successful, but Bronzy making it sound like he should be applauded just for signing to fight.

Wilder is right. Boxing Scene's troll squad did their best to paint Wilder a cherrypicker and Ortiz a boogeyman. But how can the cherrypicker be the man that finally gives the boogeyman a fight? Typical Boxing Scene. No respect.
