Charles Farrell (the author) is a nut. He thinks everybody in boxing is corrupt cuz he was corrupt as f#ck. He's always talking about some crazy bs in boxing. Surprised he didn't connect Wilder's rise with 9/11 or something.

It's very interesting as you say. Without evidence it remains conjecture, but well written and plausible even so. Certainly anyone who has followed boxing for a decent amount of time will have seen their share of fixes, in fights with far less at stake. Hope he's wrong though and we get a genuine contest.
