My strategy for ORTIZ would be for him to trim down and be as fast as possible. 241lbs might be to his detriment. That's what I meant about cutting down folks. Speed kills and WILDER has that along with power.U can bet the bldg that Ortiz is eating very well tonight and early tomorrow for physical and mental strength and might be 250+ it won't surprise me one bit.
That’s exactly what I think happens, I think he boxes very similar to Stiverne 1 and wins a decision. You make a good point that Ortiz is the more technically skilled but I think Wilders physical advantages allow him to keep the fight at range. The fact that Wilder has come in light suggests he wants to be more mobile as well.
Yes, the Ortiz from the Jennings and Thompson fights looked pretty dynamic, but since he's looked more slow and plodding, he may not have enough athleticism left to find ways to get into range against Wilder if that is the strategy Deontay employs. However, I'm hoping that isn't the case and they both go toe to toe in an epic all out war for 3 rounds with Ortiz just deciding he's going to try to walk through Wilder's bombs to land monster shots of his own! One can dream...
All these posts talking about Ortiz beating Wilder lol he's a very good fighter, but I'm very just curious to see how he'll hand the difference in speed and awkwardness that Wilder brings to the table.
Thinking KO either way, but I think Wilder gets to the old man and gets him out of there.
This could really affect Wilder's ability to take a punch, his conditioning must be on point though he must've gone beast mode in the gym to drop that much weight.
Yeah, I'm thinking that Wilder must have trained to be a cardio machine this camp.
