  • Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz: No Way Wilder Can Take My Punch; Will Pay for Mistakes

NEW YORK Luis Ortiz is convinced Deontay Wilder won't be able to take his power Saturday night. The strong southpaw from Cuba cannot wait to exploit Wilder's technical flaws, mistakes Ortiz promises will lead to him knocking out the undefeated champion at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. The extremely confident Wilder has knocked out 97 percent of his professional opponents, but Ortiz is sure Wilder is in for a devastating awakening when they fight for Wilder's WBC title.

once wilder beats Ortiz u all will say Ortiz was too old and wilder needs to fight a top 5 HW then when he does u will call him a bum chaser. We all know the AJ fight isn't happening after this fight so pretty much everyone else will be called a bum if wilder fights them.

Ortiz is no bum, but you have to call a spade a spade, the guy hasn't looked good for 2 years and has been inactive and fighting bums himself..... no legit ranking would ever have him top 5 going by his level of opposition and inactivity.... that's just a fact....

I'll argue with any one calling him a bum, and I'll argue with any one making out he is some kind of killer and the boogeyman of the division.....

Ortiz does have power and technique.

This is a very dangerous fight for Wilder.

We already saw AJ get dropped by a 40yr. old man, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilder get dropped by Ortiz. I would only be surprised if Ortiz won this fight by UD in 12. Ortiz needs to get Wilder within 7, or I doubt he gets the "W."

well, they ARE heavyweights...a landed punch from either one should do some damage...I look forward to a good fight between these two.

good fight, I can see Ortiz outfoxing Wilder but getting caught with something. Also, can see Wilder folding from an Ortiz counter punch? Can't wait.

Ortiz is great at going to the body... Can't wait to see how Wilder reacts to the left hooks.
