Comments Thread For: Froch: I Want Wilder To Destroy Ortiz, Make Joshua Sweat a Bit

Former world champion and Sky Sports expert analyst Carl Froch is hoping that WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder scores a crushing knockout over Luis Ortiz. Wilder will defend his belt against Ortiz on Saturday night from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs), who is regarded as a dangerous puncher with a very hard punch, is widely viewed as the toughest opponent of Wilder's career.

Yep if Wilder does a job on Ortiz Hearn can hide no more and all the talk about Wilder living on fantasy island will come back to haunt him because what Hearn doesn't see or chooses not to is the fact it takes two to make such a big fight and Wilder should get a fair part of the deal.Believe me Hearn would sooner not make that deal.Fighting Miller could look like and may well be A.J. and Hearn doing a runner.A ferocious victory on Saturday would really make it interesting.

But Wilder IS living on fantasy island asking for 50/50 if he's being genuine. If it's just negotiating tactics then that's one thing, but if that's genuinely what his team is going with it doesn't take many brain cells to realise that he's being wildly unrealistic given the pure economics.

If Wilder "does a job on Ortiz" as you put it, then the facts (and the negotiating position) will change to reflect the new situation, but you can't negotiate on the basis of hypothetical future situations with actual business people.

I would have thought that was pretty obvious.

Wilder destroys AJ anytime, anyday. AJ is tailor made for Wilder the way he fights. He cannot defend the right hand, does not cut off the ring and cannot fight on the backfoot.

As I said it takes TWO to make a big fight .Wilder has got a more impressive record on paper but AJ has got the slightly better names.Apart from Wlad, who was having his last fight neither have loads to brag about.

The difference is A.J. doesn't have to do anything different at the moment. He can earn around £10 million plus per fight at the stadiums .fighting lower level fighters and Hearn is even trying to get a reaction to a Whyte rematch, who has done little since their first.

Eventually AJ will travel and more than likely to the US .The fight on everyone lips in Wilder v AJ. In either country this will make huge money and Wilder deserves his share of the pie.Which will probably end up around 40% having NOT started at 40% !
I would have thought that was pretty obvious!

Wilder was on record saying he'll accept whatever deal Hearn lays out as long as they accept the same deal in a possible rematch. So 50/50 would be ideal if AJ were to lose. But let's not get too far ahead because both Wilder and AJ have to win their next fights first in order for this to happen.

This fight is so intriguing. That's why it should happen next. If either one of these guys loses before the fight is made then what other HW has a big enough name to draw the same kind of money? Besides regardless of which fighter you like best both AJ and Wilder are flawed boxers it's the power that hides most of their flaws.
