I'm talking about Ryan Garcia. He's a good looking dude, mexican american, and he already has a good fan base for a 19 year old prospect. He has talent too. Look at his social media and how many thirsty chicks comment. Anyway, he's signed with Golden Boy Promotions. Do you think he will be a PPV star?

No. The US is going to have very few PPV stars going forward, if any. The sport is moving away from PPV.

The kid does look like the real deal as long as he keeps his head straight he will go far.

They have been saying that for the past 5 years. For God's sake, people bought Chavez Jr vs Canelo. PPV is still going to be around. Only few become PPV worthy.

How many PPV attractions have emerged in the last 5 years in US boxing? Maybe one?

From little bit of what ive seen, he mostly loops his shots. I dont see him throwing straight down the pipe.

Future star? Lol i dont think so. That monikor isnt for everybody.

There are so many decent fighters in Boxing, what makes Garcia different? I dont see anything special.

Definitely one to keep an eye on. Interesting to see what De La Hoya can do with the likes of Ryan Garcia and Damon Allen Jr.

How are you qualified to justify that

I've been involved in the production and distribution of several PPVs over the years. I follow the trends in PPV very closely. I've been fortunate to learn from some great matchmakers and promoters over the years on the techniques used to create a new PPV star.

You can already see that the networks have pulled way back on PPV. If it was profitable, they wouldn't be doing this. I can't even remember the last time Showtime attempted a PPV without Mayweather. HBO has gone from 11 PPVs a year to 2. ESPN wants to try to do 2, but I'm very skeptical they can make it work.

Right now Canelo is a legitimate PPV attraction, GGG is a borderline PPV attraction, and then you have basically nothing else. It's hard to go from nothing to something. Mayweather retired undefeated. That makes it really tough to create new PPV stars because they don't get the rub from beating the old PPV star.

Manny's loss was wasted on Horn. His next loss won't be as valuable. Sure if he gets destroyed by Loma it'll help Loma, but i don't see Loma ever turning into the kind of attraction that can sell 500,000+ PPVs. Canelo has the Mexican holidays and then what else is there PPV wise in the US? It's dying off.
