thats the first time ive heard that. Ive seen alot more "non sports type" people walk by a tv and stop to watch 2 guys in a fenced ring kicking and killing, than two guys in the the same old boxing ring.

The UFC is lame, when was the last time it had a fight of the year type fight?......never. UFC always ends in some lame submission or early knockout, but I have to admit that the ultimate fighter is a very entertaining show even though the fights are always sloppy as hell. The only reason non sport fans stop and watch is because its a new sport and looks very brutal at first.

I think that one thing that hurts boxing is the alphabet soup titles. It would help if there was one champoin of each weight. All those organizations have done things to loose credability. I think that MMA doesn't take too many fans away from boxing. It might but it also may get people interested in combat sports as a whole.

EXACTLY UFC fans are the same type of people who go to YOUTUBE to watch the **** fight videos posted there.. They are NOT sports fans at BUT VIOLENCE fans

Ok, I highly enjoy both sports. I'll share my view.

Decisions like Toney/Peter can frustrate me when I see someone blindly robbed like that. I'm JUST NOW getting back into boxing after that (Hoya/Trinidad sent me away from boxing for 2 years) There are too many belts. There's too much ducking. It needs an absolute overhaul. ONE governing body with one belt for each weight class. And there is a lack of up-and-coming stars in the sport. Plus, boxing has gotten outta hand with the **** talking, fights at pressers, and **** like that.

Part of the draw I have for UFC/Pride is that its rarely left into the corrupt, paid-off judges hands. Decisions happen much less often as usually there is a KO or tapout. It seems more PURE. There's less personal attacking and much more the feel of sportsmanship here.

However, nothing will pull me completely from boxing. But I must say, I TOOOOOOTALLY understand why people are switching.

well a large part of why boxing isnt a mainstream sport anymore is when Deuk Koo Kim died after fighting Ray Mancini. it was too much for public TV and they yanked boxing off network TV. that's when HBO and Showtime picked it up, the first to act was HBO then Showtime. but had Kim not died there could've been a good chance that it would still be on, at least more than there is now. but after boxing went to cable tv PPV's were too easy for the tv, and promoters to make money on, plus all the other bull**** that follows, but the big reason it's not on network tv is because of the tragic death of Deuk Koo Kim.
