Comments Thread For: Canelo: GGG Didn't Take Risks, Scared of My Counters, I Hurt Him

Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) is firing back at the numerous statements being made by Abel Sanchez, who is the trainer of WBA, WBC, IBO, IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs). The two boxers fought to a controversial twelve round split draw last September.

So now you're supposed to just walk onto counters or youre scared? Canelo hit Golovkin with some good shots and clearly never hurt him. Can't really understand where this myth of Canelo being a puncher comes from. He only knocks out chinny fighters. Even the smaller guys, the older guys, they take him the distance.

According to GGG, Canelo had zip in his punches.

Sanchez has claimed in numerous interviews that Canelo ran for the entire fight after feeling the power of Golovkin.

The Mexican boxer rejects those claims. He says Sanchez's star fighter took very few himself because he was getting tagged with counter shots.

Canelo says he was never hurt a single time in the contest, but saw Golovkin rattled from hard shots.

"He didn't take a lot of risks either, because he was afraid of getting counter-punched," Canelo said. "I did hurt him, but I can assure you he never hurt me in the whole fight."

Canelo has reviewed the first contest, he knows the proper adjustments that he needs to make and admits that his clearest way to victory is to knock Golovkin out.

"I've seen the first fight. I know the changes I must make. That's going to be the key to victory. It's about adding more things to the preparation. We're going to add to the arsenal and add more conditioning, punches and aggression. I need to add more punches and aggression for the victory to be clear. The best way to win this fight is by knockout. It's not easy, but I can do it," Canelo said.
Now I admit I was a Canelo fan, but also I'm a boxing fan! Somebody was running backwards and it wasn't GGG.

                triple bum ain't that smart.
Him and Sanchez are relying on Canelo to stand in front of them.

Once they lose they'll be like "But canelo ran tho"

Canelo by UD - I'm not hype on this rematch ( no KO's), i know ODLH's looking for trilogy.

You might be a boxing fan but in all reality you don't know shet about boxing if you think Canelo was running backwards.
It's boxing, not brawling you fool! Hit and not get hit! You're one of them dumb fuccs who thinks a boxing fight is to stand in the middle of the ring and trade punches till one of them gets knocked out.
You have no clue what boxing is all about!
