Comments Thread For: Frank Warren Reacts To Yarde, Dubois Wins and Barrett Loss

THERE IS SOMETHING about the old York Hall and Zelfa Barrett won't forget his first experience of the iconic small hall venue on Saturday night. The Manchester starlet came unstuck against the marauding Ronnie Clark in what was an epic encounter, but Zelfa just needs to put it all down to experience and come back stronger.

Dmitry Bivol vs Anthony Yarde would be a nice fight this fall. Let them both get one more fight of experience in the summer, then fight each other in the fall. Winner gets Kovalev spring 2019.

barrett is overrated as fuuuuuuck.. or was now hes been shown up.

Anthony yarde has been the epitome of "protected". Have him fight Burton... if he fights buglioni he hasnt got the skillset to win. he might have pure power and muscles but buglioni will make him look a novice with a superior skillset in everything other than power and aesthetics.

Dubois - the kids handful, and so so young.. so if he learns from these bumfights then he could be a great thing in years to come, but at some stage.. he has to be fighting british level fights. not pulling out because of a "flu" and then fighting a week later.

he's fighting bin men right now, which joshua did..but at least joshuas bin men seemed to get somewhat better and enable him to learn something.

          Frank may consider that fight.....

          In ten years time.

          Perhaps.

I'd actually like to see FW stage a few fights outside of the UK. Unfortunately he appears to be a tad insecure & prefers to stage his bouts in his boxers back yards, which isn't always good for the future!!..........

Dubois vs Gorman would be a great fight, but would do nothing for the loser - it's more of a winner takes all fight

Yarde is no where near that level at this point in time.

AJ’s 4th fight was the same binman as DD’s 6th fight but DD put him on the deck easier....

Dorian Darch.. the journeyman who has never turned up fit for a fight in his pro career.

His record below of 5 W's 3 L's in between the two doesn't suggest different to my original comment if he was AJ's 4th fight and dubois' 6th either ?? so i really dont see where you're going with this.

                    7-2 against AJ..
                    12-5 against dubois

Not only did he get stopped TKO by both, he also was stopped with 2:11 left in BOTH fights in the same round, so what you're suggesting about Dubois handling him easier is purely subjective..

Other than Darch and the fat sack of **** that is david howe ( who got bodied against dave allen in 2 rounds ) Dubois has fought only one person with double digit wins..which was barragan, who himself had only ever fought one person with more than single digit wins, and barragan lost that fight lol.

so going by his first few fights, the fact that he hasnt fought anyone of a decent amatuer pedigree and frank warrens track record of pure protection until he can squeeze a WBO belt onto one of his fighters, then no.. i dont think dubois will learn anywhere near as quickly as AJ and make the necessary changes to his game.
