Comments Thread For: Kovalev: I'm Back From My Losses, Following My Goal of Big Fights

By Thomas Gerbasi - Addition by subtraction. It's boxing's logic, and the way the sport often levels the playing field and provides opportunities that weren't there before. So, as Andre Ward removed Sergey Kovalev's aura of invincibility with a series of shots to the midsection less than a year ago, he opened up the possibility that the best is yet to come for "The Krusher" in 2018 and beyond...

Yep you are back from your LOSSES that you supposedly never had, with a new work ethic that Jackson shouldn’t have been asking for. In the next interview he will claim he won the Ward fights, the world cheated him and Jackson is the only reason he lost. The guy is as delusional and scrambled as his garbage truck load of “red blooded American,” fans.

The fact of the matter is Kov is 0-2 in his career in fights with real ped testing. He also displayed a lack of heart in his second Ward fight. He once asked to be Adonis' mandatory, was, then pulled out of a purse bid and refused to fight him. Frankly, he had crazy power at a time when the Kremlin was feeding Russian athletes all kinds of peds and helping them cheat tests and not get caught. In his second fight where that is not possible, he can't get the ko, gets in a dogfight, and just quits.

Stevenson, Jack, Bivol, Beterbiev... the lhw division has some good fighters and at least one good fight coming up shortly. Kov isn't top level anymore, but I do like that he is fighting in New York. If he's allowed his peds his fights are fun to watch.

Gift decision and a low blow stoppage... kovalev is undefeated still.

It looks like Kovalev moved on from his losses to Ward.

He should tell some of the posters on here to do the same.

Killer Kov never lost in my book. Won the first fight, and got busted in his balls in second where reff did not take points away from Ward or even give Kovalev a countdown.

Every great fighter has his own bete noire. Holyfield was that for Tyson; Ward for Kovalev.
