Stevenson really is a POS. While taking on super middleweights and Tommy Karpency's of the division. KKKovalev was fighting Andrew mother***ing Ward. Stevenson was meant to fight KKKovalev years ago but ran to PBC, THAT was the first and most significant DUCK. All the BS since then don't mean s***. Stevenson DUCKED KKKovalev, and hopefully that POS gets his ass tapped by Jack!

Good political move for Duva. Get the other two belts that aren't under Main Events and try to build a bigger in-house fight. Either way, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Beterbiev, Jack-Stevenson winner, Bivol-Barrera winner, Kov, Browne, Gvozdyk, and more need to mix it up and establish who is the best. There is a lot of parity at the division.

Not to mention that Kovalev agreed to sign a one year contract under HBO one day after Stevenson signed his agreement with Showtime.
Understand! Kovalev wasn't sign under HBO yet, when Stevenson signed with Showtime.
Kathy Duva and later Oscar DeLaHoya, followed by Bob Arum accused Al Haymon of breaking the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act. They all failed to prove it in court. Kathy Duva dropped her bogus lawsuit before an imminent loss in court. But both DeLaHoya and Arum, lost their $400 million case in court. Just because Al Haymon made a tremendous effort to bring the sport back to a much greater audience, to free tv and basic cable channels.
Now Arum tries to do the same...Last edited by TheThirdEye; 02-28-2018, 04:49 PM.

And as usual, you fail to understand nuance. Kovalev and Ward MADE A DEAL a year in advance. A PERCENTAGE based deal. That's way different than having to put up COLD HARD CASH a year in advance at a purse bid. How is it possible you are incapable of understanding such basic nuances?
So Yvon Michel and the WBC decided to setup a purse bid exactly 30 days after the Kovalev Pascal fight, which was 30 days of failed negotiation due to Duva's inability to put aside past conflicts.
Thus, Kathy Duva claim they wouldn't participate on that purse bid because without HBO's back-up contract they will lose the bid, "like it wouldn't be fair". Okay then! so Yvon Michel and the WBC waited for Kovalev to sign another contract with HBO on May 2015, to setup a second purse bid. And Kathy Duva claims again she wouldn't participate in that second purse bid because it would cause a breach of contract if they would lose that bid, they would be in violation with their "so called" new HBO exclusive contract terms.
"They were just bluffing all along, Duva thought Stevenson would have vacate his title". The issue was that team Duva didn't want to lose any accomplishments Kovalev gained by winning over Hopkins and Pascal.
Then to save Kovalev face, she continued to repeat, Stevenson should fought on HBO, out of his PBC agreement.
Nevertheless, the WBC made several attempts in inviting Main Events to participate in a total of 4 purse bids; which were all rejected.

The second purse bid was still before Kovalev's fight, wasn't it? In any case, you are the one who mentioned she was going to get Russian financing, right? Then you should know Team Stevenson moved the purse bid up before Kovalev could get that sorted out. Hmmm why would they do that? THEY killed the purse bid, and therefore the fight, when they did that. Hmmm why??? Why were they always finding ways to **** up the fight? Why was it always Team Kovalev trying to make the fight, and Team Stevenson finding ways to kill it? Hmmm.
These are questions people with brains ask. Carry on.
Showtime and HBO have never done a co-PPV for a fight that small, relatively speaking. Stevenson also hasn't fought on Showtime in years so why would they need to be involved? Stevenson has no contract with Showtime. Kovalev has one with HBO.
How do you know she didn't talk to HBO? She wanted to renew her contract with HBO. Even if there's only a 10% chance Kovalev gets knocked out by Stevenson on Showtime, there goes the HBO contract of Duva's only HBO main event boxer. Stevenson on the other hand has no Showtime contract. He's also only one of many Haymon boxers who can make main events. HBO also has a bigger audience than Showtime. I thought PBC was all about bringing boxing to a bigger audience? What happened to that lmao??? All you do is contradict yourself.
[QUOTE=My Low Place;18522770]6. IN RECENT INTERVIEW SHE CLAIMS STEVENSON HAS DUCKED FOR TOO LONG, and she wont even bother chasing him bc kovlaev has better opponents like the unproven beterbiev and bivol...
..basically kathy has used one thing on stevenson that isnt even real issue to continue acting like kovalev is his master...the fact that adonis went to showtime after hbo refused to offer him good money..showtime offered adonis good money, and he took it back to hbo (unlike kathy) and said "HBO IF YOU MATCH THIS OFFER I WILL SIGN WITH YOU"
HBO did offer Stevenson good money. He just kept coming back with more and more demands. They had a deal agreed to, as shown by the Duva/Michel emails. Stevenson's promoter agreed to the fight. Kovalev's promoter agreed to the fight. Kovalev agreed to the fight. ALL OF THAT is confirmed in the emails. EVERYONE but the two biggest duckers in boxing, Adonis Chickenson and Al Haymon, agreed to the fight. Those are the facts! It was a good enough deal for Stevenson's promoter, it was good enough for Kovalev and his promoter. If Stevenson had really wanted the fight, it would have been good enough for him. But Haymon at that time didn't want to make good fights, he just wanted to monopolize every division, and squeeze everyone else out.
Well that's understandable. Out of ignorance often comes hatred.
