Scoring system used within boxing (past and present)

Hi there people, my name is Will and i am conducting a research into the scoring system used in boxing, this is something personal to many including myself who was robbed of a decision several years back

I was wondering if anyone has had bad/good experiences or just your opinions on scoring. Perhaps some of you have come up with solutions

Any response is very greatly appreciated

Not sure what you are asking exactly?
    Google is your freind....

Were you robbed in an amateur fight Will?
If yes than I ask in all seriousness why didn't you put a judge to sleep?

What is the goal or extent of your research?

I'm opinionated as f#ck about scoring. The first problem I see is there is no clear definition of what wins a round. Thats the very first problem that needs to be fixed. You can show a round to 10 people today & 6 will say fighter A won & 4 will say fighter B won. And both will have their own logic of why that is & have some points. I think scoring a round needs to be made less subjective & more definite with x = % of the score, y = % of the score & so on with different things or something like that. That said idk how you go about that exactly without pissing some people off, but til that base level decision is made there will be bad decisions & even then idk that you can fix it 100%.

Also you need to have a clearer means of judging the judges via this more exact & definite scoring system so the cream rises to the top & the bad judges have less impact & if they are THAT bad eventually get pushed out of the sport. And that scoring system would make it easier to see the bad judges as well I believe.

And going completely sci-fi I believe we could reach a point in the new future where you could cut out human judging altogether. I've speculated before you could probably come up with a scoring system where you put microchips into the gloves of boxers & based on punches landed x force of the blow come up with a definite amount of damage number put on an opponent that would deem the winner. You could even make it so that if one fighter gets too much damage the fight is ended in a "mercy rule" type decision being rendered like in baseball which would likely lower the deaths & serious injuries in the sport.

I think judges should close their eyes and randomly put a 10 or a 9 in a column... oh wait , it seems that's what they may be doing anyway... carry on

Get the judges a monitor so they can see the fight better

5 Judges instead of 3 so there's less impact from 1 bad judge

            That should be a beginning

One guy pulled my pants down in a fight and then slapped my ass really hard and the ref stopped the fight and it was called a TKO in his favour. I had a red glove-print on my ass as evidence too and the ref just said "suck it up, buttercup". The crowd laughed at me and booed me out of the ring and I went home and cried and stopped boxing.
