Ask yourself: who was the boss in the ring? Sor Rungvisai! 116-112 for the Thai. Big fan of Estrada but he waited too long before letting his hands go. Even his corner was telling him...

The first Gonzalev win was a controversial decision and this fight seemingly was controversial as well.

So out of the three fights he had only one was a decisive victory.

It's the same for Thurman. Thurman fought quality fighters in Porter and Garcia but he didn't seperate himself from the opponents. He got a majority decision against Garcia and a controversial decision against Porter.

I think when we talk ppv top tier you talk about guys like Crawford and Lomachenko. They are so far seperated from their opposition that people start to call those guys bums even though they were actually of high quality. Floyd suffered the same as Loma and Crawford for his brilliance, and I feel the same is/will happen to Spence.

I do agree with what you said but I also think there are two sides to this story.
Good points but on the other hand however disputed a decision (unless it was an outright robbery) the magazines that issue these lists go by results and not how close a fight was. Ward's two wins against Kov were much more contentious than S.R's 3 victories but they lifted him to number one.

Agree with what you say about Crawford and Lomachenko but as good as Bud looks ge can only be in the p4p on the way he looks - same as Golovkin 3 years ago really. Loma is a different proposition. His resume is the next closest to Rungvisai's. Russell has elite speed and even though Rigo came up 2 weight classes there were some who thought he could pull it off but it wasn't even so much as Loma's size that won that as his foot speed and angles. Crawford, even though he unified hasn't had the same level of competition.

Thurman - i didn't see the Porter win as contentious. Close but decisive for me. Same as with Garcia.

If Superfly 3 happens and S.R takes on Viloria or Cuadras then he's the beast. Gotta think that he is aging though with all this punishment he has shipped in the last three fights even though he looks ok.

All you have to do is look at the fighter's facial expressions at the end of the fight while the scores are announced they both know what happened as well as 95% of the crowd.
