These tournaments could never work in a glamour division. Especially one like WW.

The reason is because not all WWs are on the same level in terms of popularity.

Tournaments like this work when you have a bunch of fighters that are equal and which the tournament was able to provide them with more exposure than they otherwise would've received. Which is why the WBSS worked so well.

The WBSS ought to adopt this kind of structure for their next tournament and add the middleweight division which is also a little crowded, with too many prima donna's taking easy fights like one-legged cab drivers and guys we've never heard of.
The only exceptions are Golovkin and Lemieux in that division. The rest are cherry-picking tarts.

This would be so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They should bring fights to other venues on the east coast besides Barclay's. AC hasn't had an big fight in years.

I think D. Garcia would edge Porter, but can't imagine anything but a close and entertaining fight. Porter would do some of what Hererra did and thrown Danny of his rhythm a lot, but I suspect Danny's chin and sharp counters would be the difference. Almost guaranteed to be a SD/MD.

Pbc shoulda had all its ww's in a tournament when it first began. Now lotsa these guys are known as one time a yr fighters and then its against the Rios' of boxing. So ppl arent anywhere near as excited about them anymore. About 4 yrs to late.
