Comments Thread For: Mike Tyson: Deontay Wilder Could Beat Me? I Don't Think So!

Late last month, WBC champion Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) caused quite a stir when he stated in several interviews that he was fully capable of destroying a prime, 1986 version of Mike Tyson, who at the time seemed unbeatable and captured his first heavyweight title (also WBC) and eventually unified the entire division.

I fear (and celebrate) that Deyonce has lost his mind. This is certification. This also tells me Deyonce is distracted and won't be able to focus on Ortiz and he will try to crush him and wind up lights out.

"I don't think so." Simple and to the point. Prime Tyson would have destroyed Wilder. Old Ortiz is going to KO him. People say Golovkin is a hype job. Wilder must be a super hype job, because he has not fought nor KO'd ANYONEof note!

That's right. Tyson is a Zen master. I think he would have hit Wilder with a single body hook to leave him folded like a beach chair.

This is the state of boxing now when a champion degrades a former champion. Ali said Marciano would beat him after the computer show. Marciano said Louis would hacve beaten after their bout.
Point being everyone has their own opinion about match ups but when current fighters speak out about past fighters it's a shame they can't display humility and respect.

I love Tyson to death but when he told Joshua not to fight Wilder and go fight Mike Perez I knew that Tyson was out of touch with the sport. **** Mike Tyson...you’re irrelevant now. I do know that Mike would beat the ever loving **** out of Joshua doe.
