You can get reasonable prices on airbnb, have you heard of that?
I'm from the U.K, but moved here (to LA) in 2009. I used to travel to a lot of fights back then. Luckily, I had friends out in LA and the exchange rate was always around 1.6 or 2-1 so it was much cheaper (and Vegas was cheaper back then).
I was lucky to have seen Hatton-Tszyu, Calzaghe-Lacy and Kessler over there. Great experiences. Right now I go to basically all LA fights, about 3 Vegas fights a year and the odd fight in Puerto Rico, Mexico and a couple in NYC. I'll say this; Boxing fans from the UK and Mexican boxing fans are BY FAR the best. Most passion, respect and knowledge. I think for example Super Fly would sell well in England.
I met a guy at Maidana-Lopez at Stub Hub from the U.K and he was a huge Maidana fight and used to travel for his fights. That used to be me when it came to Marquez when he was this unheralded smaller Mexican fighter that'd I'd make a long ass journey for.
