World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman has revealed that his organization granted a special permit to welterweight champion Keith Thurman, so he could make an optional defense on May 19th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. However, following that voluntary defense - Thurman is then bound to fulfill back to back mandatory obligations - against Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia.

These cats are colluding, so they don't have to fight Spence and that may be the most pathetic thing I have ever seen in boxing.... Spence needs to ignore these clowns and try to make something work to fight Bud Crawford. A super annoying process, but it would be great if those two guys got in the ring and expose the cowards that these other 3 guys are...

Most probable scenario is that Spence and Crawford will have a superfight in 2019, Porter will come out of top and beat Thurman in a rematch and defend against Garcia next year, whom I think he will also beat.
