Gary: Interim fight? I want to fight Dias before I become 40 so no interim fight!

Diaz has been nursed along pretty well and I don't think he has even begun to touch the caliber of Fighters Russell has fought and I would look for Russell to beat in late into the fight...

This fight needs to happen next. Russel is not an active champ...he needs to fight more or give up his belt

If you find some of his old interviews he has this plan to retire from boxing at 30 and invest his money in properties and stuff. Gary's like the carpenter with a good set of tools except the carpenter doesn't want to be a carpenter.
He did an Ask My Anything on Reddit, Bob Arum did one a couple of days ago and despite the fact that people tried to roast him he answered all the tough questions and people actually enjoyed his participation, with Russell was the opposite, he avoided many questions, when he was asked if he likes boxing he just said that he does it because he is good at it and refused to give any credit to Lomachenko claiming that he won just because he was drained.
I was really high on Russell back then, I thought that he could be a future atg but he just doesn't care about boxing.

I got to feel bad for JoJo he ended 2016 top 10 ranked by everybody and high ranked by all the paper belt orgs. He spent the entire 2017 as the #1 ranked by the WBO but they will never enforce Oscar Valdez to fight him. They are in Top Rank's pockets and JoJo already beat Valdez in amateurs. So he agreed to a WBC eliminator with the promise that his next fight would be a direct title shot. But 1 by 1 guys ducked him and turned down the eliminator. And when he does win the eliminator back in Sept Gary was injured/long layoff asking for a tune up. So now Jojo has a stay busy fight on ESPN if he wins hopefully no more delays and Russell fight happens. JoJo title shot is long overdue
