Comments Thread For: Bellew Urges Eubank Jr. To Make Big Changes After Groves Loss

Liverpool's Tony Bellew was unimpressed with Chris Eubank Jr.'s performance against WBA Super world and IBO titlist George Groves at the Manchester Arena on Saturday night and has advised the 28-year-old to make a number of changes following the WBSS semi-final decision defeat and the loss of his IBO belt. "Bomber" believes that a better training set-up needs to be in place as well as advising Eubank to consider a return to 160lbs.

eubank boxed in a way that I had to ask myself does this guy have a gameplan? or just bum-rushes his opponent all the time which got his eyebrow split as a result..he needs a good coach that can create a very good gameplan for his specified opponents not bumrushing his opponents and swinging away,it won't work for every decent boxer he faces..he'll get outboxed all the time until he changes or if one of them winged shots hit the target hard and scores a ko which is unlikely when facing a top boxer especially if he can take a shot

Eubank was a proper let down that’s for sure ... lost £20 on the hype train

Not a big fan of either guy but I hoped eubank would take it to groves and force a proper scrap

Groves did to eubank what brook did to porter . Tied him up whenever he got inside and cruised it . Not fun to watch but he got the job done piece of pizz

No, disagree - regardless of whether he froze, he still hasn't got anywhere near the skill level needed to beat top opponents. Walking punchbags like a shot Abraham and Yildrim maybe, or at domestic level for the British Title, but not anyone at world level.

Selby and Brook, and Degale until his last fight with Truax, are world class. Three IBF champions. Eubank Jr is ****ing miles away from them. He's technically ****.

After all the talk we've had to listen to for the last 6 years about him being a special fighter who's going to the top, the reality has finally been revealed.
He's **** mate. He never learned how to box properly and unless he suddenly learns now (very unlikely) he'll never be able to compete with world class fighters.

Freezing is a side issue. Actual boxing talent is the real one.

I also don't think that Eubank under performed, I simply believe that he isn't good enough.
