Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: I Want Thurman, It's On Him, Whenever He's Ready

On Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, former two-division world champion Danny Garcia is looking for a much bigger fight after a sensational knockout of Brandon Rios in their WBC welterweight title eliminator. It was Garcia's first fight since dropping a close twelve round split-decision to Keith Thurman in their WBC, WBA welterweight unification in March of 2017 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Fight Spence, Porter, or Crawford. Leave the rematches to top rank.

I love how confident he is, despite having beaten a shot Rios, who was never that good to begin with. Once Rios started losing his size advantage, he started taking Ls.

I like Danny, but Thurman has already said he is fighting a bum in May and then a rematch with Porter late in the year. So, what is Garcia going to do? Just wait and not fight for a year or two, hoping Thurman eventually gives him the rematch?

Its just funny. Everyone wants to fight Thurman. No one wants anything to do with Spence. Spence has a belt too, but no one ever mentions Spence. They act like he is in a different division or something.

Golden boy happens to be throwing the biggest rematch this year.

Thurman's second fight of 2018 will likely be a tough fight. Porter is the leading candidate for post tune up fight.

When was the last time an Al headliner fought a Bob headliner?

Better chance of fighting an actual dinosaur than fighting Crawford.

Thurman brings more money to the table and the top two belts. #1 belt + #2 belt + MORE MONEY > #3 belt + LESS MONEY.

Why would ANYONE want to fight Spence over Thurman? Thurman is a bigger name, who brings more money to the table, who has more & more recognized belts, and many seem to think Thurman might be the easier fight.

You add all that up and you'd be a moron to prefer to fight Spence.
