  • The Featherweight Division:Wha happened?

Until a year ago, the Featherweights were the toast of the boxing world, famed to degrees second only to very few other individual fighters. Today, the division has champs with names like:

    Erik Aiken - IBF
    Chris John - WBA
    Takashi Koshimoto- WBC

    and number 1 contenders named:

    Nicky Cook- WBC
    "Not Rated"- WBA
    Orlando Salido- IBF

These are hardly any names that can make an HBO/Shoetime exec reach for the phone real quick.

The biggest name in the division (if that), Juan Manuel Marquez, is facing in a WBO eliminator a fighter with perhaps the funniest (foulest smelling?) name in the rankings: TERDSAK Jaendaeng. (Neils says it's, "Turdsack")

Who can rescue this division that has given fans so many memorable moments only a handful of years ago?

its because fighters who have made this division an exciting have gone up on weight (EM,MAB and PAC).. JMM should be the king of this division and IMO he should move up to super featherweight and meet the big boys and for big paydays to come..

im sure some time in the near future that the featherweight division will regain its lost ground..

lastly, i hope my boy BOOM BOOM Will move uyp to this division someday and bring a lot of excitement for fans!

JMM and Harisson are still around but they can't generate enough stir to put life into the division.

2 feathers need to get a trilogy going with brutal fights for people to pay attention to the division.

Eric Aiken is a complete disgrace, and should not even have the IBF title. He won it on a Bull**** DQ.And decided that he would rather win a world championship with his acting skills rather than with his fighting skills.
