Audio: "The Scene" - Joined by Paulie Malignaggi

The dynamic duo of Sergio Martinez and Jim Cawkwell take a look at this past weekend's shows, a look to some future events, and the two hosts are joined this week by none other than "The Magic Man" Paulie Malignaggi.

Malignaggi discusses the bout with WBO junior welterweight champion Miguel Cotto, the future and much more. [details]

Awesome, his fight with Cotto is going to make me follow his career!

Thats pretty cool BoxingScene has the reputation to gain interviews with boxers like Malignaggi.

I was going to go to bed too, now I have to listen to this

I had Cotto winning a clear victory, even without the KD he was clearly winning. Calling it a "complete domination" is just ******ed. The fight was tied at round 10... Domination, no. A domination is Hopkins / Tarver or calzaghe / Lacy in my opinion.

    EDIT:

"Im not gonna complain about it but..."

I do smell bull**** over the weigh in and ring size but oh well...

    EDIT:

Heres my problem, I still like Malignaggi and all but when he agreed to fight Cotto he had to know Cotto was calling the shots. It was his fight, people paid to see Cotto fight. I dont think the way everything played out was fair but he had to expect it. Cotto didn't call the shots when he was a prospect, look where hes now.

Malignaggi hung up!!!! Nah he lost signal, or did he?

    EDIT:

Who the **** cares what the co-main event was? Boxing is about the same thing every other sport / anything is about. Money dumbass, money. Putting a Notre Dam player as the co-main event generates more money than making Duddy the co-main.

"Thats bull****" - LOL @ you!

Neither of those fights were worthy of PPV. Tommy and Duddy are not ppv fights just like JCC Jr. is not. Unfortunately, that's the way the deal is at this time.

I havent listened to it so I dont know who said the other comments or what its in reference too.Who was complaining that those shouldnt have been on the PPV card? Because thats a moot point, since cotto-malignaggi shouldnt have been PPV either.

Giving so much attention to a football player in his debut like that when boxers that have been busting their asses all their careers is an insult to the REAL fighters.

Thankfully, the interview with Paul was done before we lost him. It happens all the time on other radio shows and mainstream stations, but we did manage to get the goods first

completely agreed regarding the attention that Tommy Z received for this fight. $25,000 purse for a four rounder and live on ppv on your first fight. What can one say. I know it's all about putting asses in seats, but come on.
