Finkel Withdraws Case Against Pacquiao

The management team of Manny Pacquiao headed by Shelly Finkel filed a lawsuit against the Filipino ring idol but subsequently filed the necessary dismissal in Los Angeles Superior Court. [details]

My impression from the stories I've read earlier is that Pacquiao was not among the respondents of the charges filed by Finkel. Only Gacal and Salud.


I may be wrong. But, if one looks at the reports of the charges filed ,and separates the chaff from the grain, one can see that the matter is financial, the aspect of the forthcoming event at dispute which Gacal and Salud are handling. Pacquiao, although a nominal principal in the promotions, appears not to have been included by Finkel and company in the complaint, knowing perhaps that Pacquiao has left everything in the hands of Gacal and Salud while he focuses on his fight preparations.

There was also the matter of a malpractice suit filed against lawyer Gacal for practicing law in Los Angeles without a license to do so (Gacal is a member of the Philippine Bar but not of any other, I understand). Pacquiao cannot be part of that either.
