look at the green arrow. pac's head has already went pass for the hook to land cleanly. the palm of floyd's glove is already at the back of manny's head.

which is why floyd didnt commit to it and instead uses the palm of his glove to push manny in the direction that he was going.

if floyd would have commit to the hook, he would have missed or at the very least, glaze the side of manny's head, which is why he didnt commit to it in the first place.
