Eddie Hearn: Deontay Wilder Says He Will Unify But Never Tries To Make A Unification

Eddie Hearn says that Wilder has talked about unifying the division for years but not once has he reached out to other belt holders to genuinely try and make a fight.

Calling someone out on social media does not equate to sending an offer… All Wilder has ever done is call out opponents on social media and most the time his call out are made when the person he is calling out already has a fight lined up.

Hearn says Wilder and his team never made an offer or tried to negotiate a fight with Klitschko when he was champion.

When Fury became a champion Wilder or his team never reached out to Fury to try and make a fight.

No serious offers have ever been sent to Joseph Parker by Wilder or his team.

And despite him calling out AJ on social media everyday, Hearn was never contacted by anyone on Wilder team to try and make a fight AJ. So ask yourself, does this guy really want to unify.. He’s been talking about it for years but the only guy that is actually unifying the division is AJ.

The only real unification fight Wilder really tried to make was with Charles Martin when Martin fought on Wilder’s undercard and became champion setting up a fight with between these two. Charles Martin himself confirmed Wilder’s team contacted him regarding unification!

Wilder’s whole career has been guided to avoid any real threat. The fact that his first real test is happening in his 40th fight is just proves this. Many boxer retire before even having 40 fights.. but Wilder waited 40 fights before taking a step up in opposition.

He tried to unify against Parker until the Kiwi tucked his **** between his legs and gave us the good old "Wilder doesn't bring enough to the table" excuse.

Eddie Hearn is a great promoter and extremely intelligent guy. He's doing his job here. But, his job is to lie and he is definitely lying.

Wilder and Klitschko share the same manager and there were discussions at the end of 2015 that they would fight in late 2016 once they'd cleared their mandatories and Klitschko's obligations to HBO had expired. Klitschko ended up being upset by Fury, so Finkel's plan to match Klitschko & Wilder fell apart.

Last year, there were real discussions between Wilder & Parker's teams and they agreed on a 50/50 split, with the fight taking place in America to maximize revenue. Unfortunately, Parker can't fight in the US without Arum's permission and Arum blocked the fight in hopes of making Parker-Jennings.

In addition, we also know Hearn himself sat down with Haymon and Finkel to discuss Joshua vs. Wilder and Hearn correctly believes the fight would be much biggeri n late 2018 than it would have been in March 2018. So Hearn is the one that didn't want to do the fight yet (nor should he have, he was 100% right to want to fight Parker first).

What other champions was Wilder supposed to be contacting? This is pure propaganda from Hearn. And spreading propaganda is part of his job, so I'm not faulting him for it. Hearn is brilliant at what he does. But he's definitely lying here.

The thing about this also that SOME ppl want to forget is Martin challenged Joshua .

I also believe Povetkin was Wilders mandatory after that fight , would Wilder even be able to fight Martin ?

I dont believe a unification fight was possible for Wilder , he was set to fight Povetkin on May 21st . Joshua fought Martin in April .

Am i missing something here ? How can Wilder offer Martin a fight when Povetkin became Wilders mandatory after the Perez win in 2015 ?

Wilder HAD to fight Povetkin after his win over Szpilka which took place the same night as Martins win over Glaskov . But Wilder offers Martin a fight ? lol

Someone's FIBBING again at team Haymon !

Was waiting for the “he’s lying” responses.

                The truth hurts.

Jeez i can just imagine the anguish in wilders camp when the prince charles fight slipped through their fingers. Their best chance of wilder ever being a unified champ gone. Is ortiz even a step up now he is pushing 50 years old? He looks good in photos but ortiz is years past his prime.

So you're alleging that Ortiz went pro at 43 years old?
