Comments Thread For: Arum: We're Selling Entertainment; Kavaliauskas 'Whole Package'

Pretty much everything Egidijus Kavaliauskas has shown Bob Arum and his matchmakers at Top Rank Inc. has impressed them. They'll know more after Friday night, though, just how ready the hard-hitting welterweight is for top opponents in his division. Lithuania's Kavaliauskas (18-0, 15 KOs) is set to take on Russia's David Avanesyan (23-2-1, 11 KOs) in a 10-round fight ESPN will broadcast from Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada.

Espn didn't up the quality of its fights when it signed TR, TR just lowered their quality.

I'm sure Bud can't wait to be a fight or two away from the guy nobody knows & who's name no one can pronounce instead of Manny, Spence or Thurman.

So far Kavaliauskas looks real goods indeed, even though the competition is far from tops.
If he wins Avanesyan in a decent way, he definitely becomes a rising star.
Eager to see how he develops, and really pity the people having problems with longer-than-10-characters names - perhaps, they will have to learn it pretty soon. )
