Typical Loma fight facing a Top Rank guy and having everything fixed in his favor oh wait...

Hope this one gets made. Worth making a trip to NYC for. I've seen both guys live quite a lot I figure their speed and skills will mesh well but Loma will dominate and then be ducking Davis and Easter.

Nelson is likely to pair Diego De La Hoya with the Alvarez-Golovkin 2 replay, likely in a fight for the vacant WBA belt or against Rey Vargas for the WBC (would've suggested JoJo Diaz, but not sure if the turnaround to fight Gary Russell Jr is even doable).

The WBC mandated Garcia vs. Linares, so if Garcia wants the fight, and Linares doesn't, Linares is getting stripped of that "champion" status. Basically, Linares has to face Loma ASAP, and then Mikey, or just wait for Mikey, which was the plan anyway!

Linares is still WBA champion, so he really doesn't have to do anything, tbh.

Mikey, assuming he beats Lipinets, can simply wait out Golden Boy's offer, have Linares choose a different route, and then weigh fighting Robert Easter Jr against making the move to 140lbs (as things currently stand, you open up the door for Mendy-Campbell 2 to now be a fight for the WBC title).

Interestingly enough, Mikey said the Lipinets fight is his final fight on his Showtime contract, so potentially he could fight Linares on HBO and then return to Showtime. Mikey is a smart guy, so I know he'll use any leverage he has to negotiate a deal that's best for him!

Assumed that he and Showtime were on a handshake deal, tbh. Still, Linares doesn't have a deal with HBO anyway, so logic would tell you that things should come down to the money on offer.

I saw that! Why do cats not understand what's really going on? It's obvious Arum knew about the replay a long time ago! He wants to compete with HBO on that date! Why? Because HBO puts on competing cards on his dates! Linares vs. Lomachenko was never gonna happen on ESPN, on May 12th! It's just a ploy to say "Loma was willing to fight Linares, but HBO blocked it, so Lomachenko will be fighting Beltran!" New story, old tactics!

THIS! Just turn the tables around for 1 sec and ask yourself if in Manny's PPV hayday would he EVER allow one of his best fighters to fight on another network on the same day HBO was replaying the Manny PPV? Arum would never allow one of his top guys to go compete with his own phuking show on another network. There were reports long before Linares that Loma was ear marked to fight Beltran next. Arum doing what arum does best put out misinformation or BS poison pill offer to distract you from what was always going to happen.

Do folks remember when fans were upset with Manny/Bradley 3 and what Arum told the public for why he didn't make Manny/Khan?

Khan seemed like a very good selection. He and Pacquiao used to train side by side for several years when the two boxers were under the care of Freddie Roach. Khan left Roach in 2012 and hired trainer Virgil Hunter. Over the years there have been debates over the actual events of the Pacquiao-Khan sparring sessions. Roach claims Pacquiao battered Khan and knocked him out. Khan disputes Roach's recollection of the events, stating that he did so well that Pacquiao's team eventually refused to let them spar.

Arum spoke to HBO, who are handling the pay-per-view, and they felt Khan didn't present a big enough draw for PPV. It probably didn't help that Khan's adviser is Al Haymon, who is enemies with Arum and does no business with HBO.

“What [HBO] said was how Amir Khan didn’t resonate with them at all,” Arum explained to the Las Vegas Review Journal. “Yeah, he would do some pay-per-view business in England, but they didn’t think he was an attraction in the United States.”

Arum says all of the options were presented to Pacquiao and the final ruling came down on Bradley.

"We all gave [Pacquiao] an input," Arum said. "From the cable companies, the satellite providers, MGM, it was about who is the strongest opponent from a marketable standpoint, and we outlined everything for him and we were down to three choices and [Pacquiao] thought Bradley was the one that made the most sense."


Bold face lie saying HBO and the casinos ect didn't think Khan was a big enough name for PPV! We know this was a lie because just a little over 1 month later HBO and the same casinos green lit Canelo to fight Khan on PPV and it generated MORE money then Manny/Bradley 3.
