Hurd is ridiculously big for 154. If people want to talk about weight bullies, this guy should be on the very top of the list lol. As a pro, I doubt he's ever fought a man close to his size.

Lara gonna teach Hurd a lesson in this one. Aint nobody beating Lara coming forward. Look at Canelo and he is away better boxer then Hurd. Lara will coast to a comfortable decision.

If "face first" Angulo could do serious damage in a fight that took place 4 years ago, i wonder how Lara deals with a young stud like Hurd.
Lara has not gotten any younger!!!

Canelo is not comfortable chasing guys, he doesnt know how to cut off the ring and doesnt fight up close. He prefers to fight at midrange and counter guys with quick combinations.
The better comparison would be angulo, whose bread and butter is to pressure guys and be in his opponents face through the whole fight. Hurd knows how to use his strenghts and that is mainly his size to constantly pressure guys and wear them down.
It is very exhausting to keep a big dude like hurd off you for 12 rounds. You have to constantly move and potshot him and be aware of fire back, because he is eating shots in order to land his own shots. His size advantage allows him to absorb more shots than normal sized Jr. middleweights.
Lara has much more power going on than Trout and could hurt and stop no defense-Hurd before he gets tired, but Lara is also not a risk-taker, he throws his shots when he knows he can land flush. He is not likely to throw damaging combinations in order to knock the senses off hurd.
A big factor for me is if Lara still got the fire to fight through hard and exhausting fights. He is 34 and the last time he fought top competition was 3,5 years ago.

I can actually see it going the way Paulie sees it. Hurd is a big body and he actually has skills. I think he sacrifices his skills to pursue his opponents. You saw him start to slip punches when Trout started marking him up. Lara is a better fighter than Trout but I still think Hurd will be too much for him late. Lara has tendency to start crumbling if the pressure gets to be too much. Once he starts to fade Hurd will pour it on and stop him late.

I even seen some bigger fighters plant their feet hard for more special effects when they throw punches.
Ive never really paid attention to this before??? But I can see a judge thinking the lil guy is losing just because how towering the other guy is.
I probably would be biased and need to see the lil guy do more?? Just because i was tought a good big guy will always beat a good lil guy
not sure ??
not sure what happened in that fight..... but yea, Lara won
there could be some truth in that
in the Canelo fight I think he suffered the same fate that happened to both Canelo and Golovkin when they fought..... not quite doing enough
