Warren/Calzaghe better make offer of a lifetime!

Frank Warren and Joe Calzaghe have better get real creative real ****ing quick!

Toney Tarver was the big fight for Joe and now that fight is all but gone, a fight with Glenn Johnson really means nothing and fighting all risk zero reward fights against Kessler or Adamnek are probably not the smartest moves in the world.

Who is left to really cement the term LEGACY for Joe?

    Bernard Hopkins.

Bernard is all about the money-always has been and always will be and if Warren and Calzaghe are to get their dream fight they are going to have to make some serious ****ing concessions(which would be a first).

Joe needs to sign this fight for next to nothing, he needs to pull a Judah when Judah fought Spinks and take nothing...Nard needs to get almost the entire purse and that purse will most likely have to hit 15 million give or take to entice Bernard to come to Wales.

Even if Bernard doesnt take it it would be a hell of a Public Relations move for Joe who has been a disaster from the PR standpoint his enitre career.

Hopkins is the one fight out there that will absolutely cement Calzaghe as a true great...do I expect team Calzaghe to go after this fight...maybe-but not in the way that I suggest and if they really truly care about being a great all over the world and not just across the pond then they will take my advice and at the very least push Nard "all in" with an offer that he would have to at least ponder.

Cmon Frank, Cmon Joe...clutch up for once outside of the ring and blow the boxing world away with an offer no man can refuse...look what happens if you dont....next up Mr. Clinton Woods-ah ****!

Hopkins would be a FOOL to fight Calzaghe.

That was the perfect way to end a career, he shouldn't fight again.

Its Frank Warrens job to make him rethink that notion.

If Joe cant get Bernard there is absolutely no one around-**** if Joe beat Bernard he could fight you juy and he would be able to name his price.

At the very least an offer that makes Bernard think must be made!

I think B-hop is done. How many times have we seen a fighter fail to capitalize on winning a big fight? They always find some way to botch things up.

Hopkins is old and although it'd be interesting to see how him and Joe matchup, I'd only be thinking of how Bernard would have won 5 years ago if it ends as a close fight.

I'd rather see Joe fight guys like Adamek, Briggs, Kessler, and Mundine...up and comers who are young and just as threatening as Bernard at this point.

The humorous part about your post Scappy is how you sound like Calzaghe has to get in a rush now to cement his legacy.

What happned to the last decade?

If he had put any effort into traveling (countries and different divisions) he'd woudn't need to be scrambling now.

The Tarver fight was a big fight out there, but last I hear he's bickering with Glen Johnson about moving down to 168.

Where were the call outs to Tarver? The offers to fight him at 175 in Vegas or MSG?

Hopkins has nothing to gain from taking this fight. He's said he's hanging them up now, and after a long career of making good choices and decisions, that's his porogative.

If Calzaghe is truly interested in cementing a legitimate legacy (not just his die hard fans talking about how he's one of the all time great Supper Middles), he needs to get off his ass and start fighting in other counties.

Go kick Kessler's ass in Denmark. Call out the winner of Taylor vs Wright and offer to fight them in Vegas. Fight Clinton Woods in his hometown.

Get out there and make it happen.

I agree with Boozo. Go over to Denmark, beat up the younger fighter in Kessler. Fight again in another 4-5 months the winner of Taylor - Wright, which will be Taylor and then fight one of those euro-stars (Erdei, Adamek) who will probably make a name forhimself in that time.

Let the man stay retired. I dont want to see Hopkins fight Calzaghe, he already has his legacy. Hopkins is a smart man and he knows he doesn't need Calzaghe. Its too much of a risk, I mean he is 41 now...
