Comments Thread For: Roach Very Confident That Pacquiao Would Beat Lomachenko

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, who guides the career of eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (59-7-2, 38 KOs), is really high on a potential fight with WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (10-1, 8 KOs). Their mutual promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, has been mentioning that fight for the fall.

The irony here is that Loma will just do the same thing to Pac that Pac did to DLH. Actually it's not irony, it's got the footprint of Arum all over this farce.

Lomachenko will be the favorite in this fight. And I think Pacquiao will go out on his shield and not be a Dela Hoya.

Pac should fight the winner of Canelo/GGG. Winner of Pac vs. Canelo/GGG should fight Lomachenko. Winner of (Pac vs. Canelo/GGG) vs. Lomachenko should fight Wilder. Winner o' dat is GOAT.

Roach has to back Manny but he knows Manny probably won't win. Pacquiao is done.

Manny needs to just retire. He got nothing to prove. He is just ruining his legacy now.

Well, let's be honest, Manny will probably fight Crawford or Lomachenko later this year. Lomachenko makes more sense if the promoter is trying to build a star, and it's a more winnable fight for Manny's team. I don't think Roach is wrong for thinking this either. He talks a lot of *****, but I think he's genuine here. And he has reason to be confident all things considered.

if loma wants to be p4p unquestioned

If Loma fights them in this order...
                    first Linares @ 135
                    send Manny into retirement@ 138 catch-weight
back down to unify 130 with Berchelt
then back up to unify 135 with Mikey Garcia
                    then 140 with Crawford.
