I don't know what kind of a buzz FMjr is making as a promoter? One of his fighter's ....RGavril is fighting for a world title on Saturday, and I have not read or seen one article where Floyd is promoting this fight. I was hoping to see TMT give GBP or TR more of a challenge but as a promoter of fights and fighters FMjr has been slow out of the gate mostly still looking to cast the shine on himself.

You make a great point about his age. But I think even at 37 he could've did excellent. And I aint say anything about grappling. That indeed takes a long time to master. But not the other stuff, especially for an athlete like him. He railroaded Conor and walked through him. While Conor has did the very same thing to elite MMA fighters. Floyd would probably be physically stronger than all of them. He would be quick as hell. I think it would look identical to his boxing matches, where he goes the whole fight not getting touched, and kicking the hell out of guys.Floyd is a great boxer and a great athlete BUT he's 40 years old and past his prime. It takes so long to learn the grappling, kicks..etc. It takes so long to put all the pieces together, so long to learn the transition from striking to grappling at a high level. If Floyd was younger it would've been a different story but to make the transition from boxing to MMA now at age 40 that's not going to happen.
I see comments from ppl in this thread who think Floyd can go to MMA in his next fight and be successful, that don't make any sense.
But your right about the age.Comment

No it would take years to grapple. But an athlete like him, throwing a kick isnt rocket science. Throwing elbows, kicks, knees is not rocket science. He would just have to learn the technique to it. And I think blocking and avoiding them will just be incorporated into his own defense, and instincts and reflexes. He would probably move fast af with his kicks.
He is old though.Comment

Big names lose in MMA all the time. Brock Lesner (a pro wrestler) came into the UFC back in the day & beat MMA legend & HOFer Randy Couture for the belt. The sport only got bigger from there.
My biggest question to this has always been is Floyd willing to sell his 0 in professional combat sports for the money the UFC is likely to offer him? And I think he would despite the negativity that would be all over social media & on forums like this, but idk if the UFC would pay that much is the thing. Remember Floyd has a $100M GUARANTEE to fight in boxing now. Whats that guarantee he'd want to fight in the UFC? I suspect its bigger. I suspect the UFC won't be willing to part with that much money...although if they feel THAT confident Conor wins & that it'd be a iconic enough moment for them maybe they would jump idk.
What's the 100 Million payday?Comment

Guarantee not payday first off.
But Conor obviously.
But the math is difficult on all sides...but then again I said the same about their boxing match and that got ironed out.
I think so many people wanna see Floyd catch an a$$whipping this could be the biggest PPV ever if it were to happen. I think more people wanna see Floyd lose than any boxer in history, even if it's not in his chosen sport, and if this fight got made it'd probably be the least likely to win fight Floyd's been in in his entire life.Comment

I wouldn’t be surprised, since he had been planning to fight McMuffin. But him stepping in the octagon..... uh uhComment

Yea the MMA ppv buys would do more than the boxing ppv.
But I do wonder would the UFC cut Floyd a huge check. Floyd going to want a 9 figure pay day.
Also would Floyd vs Conor be for a belt?Comment
