Sanchez: “Gassiev walks around 220lbs...at 19 6’2”” he was too young for Heavy..”

    Dontaes boxing nation interviewed Abel.

    Points:

“I trained Gassiev to wear down Doritos the way we trianed for Lemieux.”

    “Gassiev walks around 220...”

What I’m thinking is, Gassiev supposedly grinds hard like Golovkin all year round, so what’s with the 20 lb cut for Cruiser?

In another channel by Hatman strikes back, Gassiev said that Wilder hits harder than Klitschko. No wonder Abel been keeping Gassiev at Cruiser

Most CW's should be HW's, they weigh 210+ in the ring.

Gassiev is built like a tank at cruiser. Unless he’s the second coming of Evander Holyfield, heavyweight is probably too much for him in this era. It was for guys like him that the cruiserweight division was created.

The cruiserweight limit was originally 190 pounds so boxers who couldn't quite make 175 didn't have to fight 220 pound or heavier opponents. Since they raised the limit up to 200 pounds 220 pound boxers can get down to 200 pounds and fight at cruiserweight so it defeats the original purpose that weight class was created for. Lots of cruiserweights probably weigh near 220 pounds on fight night. Almost every cruiserweight champion turns heavyweight because that is where the bigger money is at.

Mike Tyson 20 years, 4 months and 22 days old. when he won the Heavyweight Championship 5'10 215
Thats why Tyson would get killed in this era of superheavyweights a 40lb advantage is a 40lbadvantage and sometimes more now.
In any other weight class you're not allowed to have that kind of an advantage for a reason.

Not really - HW is a different beast than it was back then.

Now the best HW's are 230ish or greater. Joshua being 6'6' 250ish.

CW is just fine, and still serves its purpose.

So what? Joshua is 6'6" 250-260 lbs. Wilder is 6'7" 220-230 lbs.

Stay at cruiserweight and fight Bellew, Glowacki, Lebedev.

Weight has little to no advantages if you can't hit a guy and Tyson is one of the hardest dudes in history to hit clean in his prime.
