Cotto will beat Margarito, but not Zab.

I say take an easy fight at 147, against a contender, see how he feels there, and then he can fight the champions.

Tough call, it would be a bit daunting for him to have his first fight at a new weight class also be his first fight versus an Elite fighter.

BTW I do consider Zab an Elite fighter because he has shown that when prepared he does have the Talent to be competitive versus anyone.

However I think Zab is all wrong, stylisticly for Cotto. It would be much harder for Cotto to cut of the ring on a guy that has some pop than it was on a guy like Paulie who didn't. I would much prefer him fighting Margarito or Hatton. Especially Hatton due to the fact that he has just recently risen from JrWelterweight himself.

I would say winner of Gatti vs Baldomir, Hatton, Castillo (at 147), or Margarito.

I agree, once Cotto gets hit with a left uppercut or straight left from Zab, he'll have a good reason not to swarm him. Paulie had nothing to keep Cotto outside in terms of power.

I agree. Zab is a bad matchup for a swarmer like Hatton or Cotto.
