The Compubox numbers given are only for their offense. I'd be interested to see their defensive skills.power punches, jabs landed against Jones and Maywether .defense is very important too when comparing fighters

The article was not by Dan. It was written by Igor Guryashkin, whoever the **** that is. He did quote Bob Canobbio, owner and founder of CompuBox, for the article. Floyd is an ATG, but he's not "TBE."

If you had a son who was about to become a boxer and you have a choice.
Have a career JUST like Floyd or a career JUST like Roy.
Hmm I'd want my child to have a career like Floyd.
Easy pick every time for me. But that's just my personal opinion.

They were good but Roy was about two notches better. Roy should be compared to a prime "Ali" or a prime "Leonard" than a prime "Floyd". His skills, speed, reflexes and ring movement were too much for average fighters to contend with. In Roy's prime he couldn't be touched. In Mayweather's prime he could be touched by a prime Zab Judah and a prime Shane Mosley.

Similarly 2 prospects can build a 14-0 record and one is improving with every fight and the other is just waiting for his first loss as soon as he is stepped up.

            what about styles ?

does compubox have an algorithm, or something to balance out styles?

              or styles

casuals love compubox, because they talk about boxing like it is a video-game anyways

If you are comparing Prime vs Prime than Floyd isn't anywhere near RJJ. But every fighter has their own style.

Compubox...is only used when it suits somebody.

CompuBox has proven to be reliably inconsistent.

Not sure why this is even a debate. Roy was better prime for prime but mayweather had the better overall career. This really isn't debatable.

The problem with compubox with sh^t like this is its not measuring the guys each guy fought & making a legit threshold. So basically they are comparing RJJ fighting policemen & firefighters to Floyd fighting other title holders & future HOFers to look at some extremes one could look at with these specific fights.

Respect to both guys cuz all this **** measuring is ultimately silly. My biggest problem with these things when cats legit try to measure dudes in a less subjective way is they still fail massively at it in one way or another cuz its not some easy sh^t to measure for anyone. And thats why I stick to my stance that you can only be among the best of your era.
